Should I Lose Weight?
There's a difference between weight and fat. Some people weigh a lot but aren't fat. The best example of this is professional athletes, specifically male professional athletes in the National Football League (NFL). Thus, when you have excess amounts of fat and have body rolls, that is when you should "lose weight."
How Do I Lose Weight?
In order to lose fat, you will need to do cardio exercises, aerobic exercises, and/or HITT exercises. HITT exercises are best for women who want to enhance their curves. However, if your goal is to look slender and get lean, cardio and aerobic exercises are what you should do to lose fat, and in turn, lose weight.
The 80/20 Rule
People think that exercising every day is the way to go about losing weight and living a healthy lifestyle. However, celebrity trainers swear by the 80/20 rule, which is 80% nutrition and 20% exercise.
One of the reasons why people struggle with losing weight or will gain weight even when they exercise is because people don't monitor what they eat.
When I was a freshman in college, despite being an NCAA Division I athlete for a nationally ranked Top 25 program, I was gaining weight despite working out twice a day, 5x per week. I thought I could eat whatever I wanted because I would burn it off during practice or training. But, this goes to show that the 80/20 rule is very much in full effect. What you consume, both food and drink wise, is a very significant factor in the amount of fat your body holds and in regards to the current status of your health.
